Hiker enjoying the water, Noupoort Walk

Noupoort Walk, Greyton

Greyton Nature Reserve

Western Cape

An easy walking/hiking trail,  out-and-back trail'pleasant and pleasing! One starts at the foothill walking through the fynbos and then a gentle decent into the forest and along a narrow river. At the end of the trail is a large rock pool, for a refreshing wild swim. In water the colour of bright red, Rooibos tea.

When visiting Greyton, an ever so quaint and  picturesque town, going on a little mountain trail is well worth the effort and time. This is one of our favorite hikes and highly recommend it for a bit of a break into nature, suitable for the whole family. You can pack a little picnic and sit in a shady spot. Everywhere is pretty along this pathway.

Greyton is bustling small village with plenty of good restaurants, interesting shops and a fantastic market on the weekends. We stayed at the Gypsy Bowtop which is a unique and special experience for a couple. You can view information on it here.
