Porcupine Rest Camp, Laingsburg
Laingsburg, Western Cape
Porcupine Rest Camp accommodated us last minute, which was extremely helpful! We were driving from JHB to WC and the place we had booked got flooded. This is a super great place and glad we stumbled upon it. It is a secluded and quiet campsite, shaded under trees, with our own shower and loo. The whole site is surrounded by trees so we were private and able to relax properly after a long drive, and enjoy peace and quiet.
There is a restaurant/bar with a big splash pool...which was like an oasis in the summer heat.
A proper bush veld campsite, and perfect little stop-over spot. Highly recommended if you need a break from the N1 highway. Taking the R323, turn off at Laingsburg and drive under the rainbow bridge and head into the mountains on an incredible mountain pass towards the campsite.
