Berg River and Centre Peak Loop Trail

There are numerous hikes and mountain bike trails around Bergriver Dam. Although you can also just have a gentle stroll from the car park to the dam and walk along the wide and flat road.

The entire scenery is truly amazing and no matter where you stand the views of the surrounding Drakenstein Mountains are spectacular.

The trails are available to map out on the All Trails app, and it would be worth saving the maps before heading out, so you know where the loop turns and you're not forced to head back the way you started.

Bergriver Dam deserves a full day visit. Just the dam itself,  with all its washed up drift wood is a spectacle to behold and easy to enjoy for hours. The wide river with the trout fisherman, boulders, pebbles is also really lovely to play in.
