Farm style cottage
This delightful cottage does not seem to be available on the website anymore. It is well decorated with good linen and gentle natural tones. A basic kitchen with enough of what you need for an old farm style break away from city, suburb and normal life in the town. Gamkaskloof Nature Reserve offers a few unique cottages.
An absolutely wonderful place full of interesting plant life and beautiful views, extremely grounding and peaceful.
Gamkaskloof is super remote and requires booking and planning as there nothing available on the road there and the same road back out. We travelled via Swartberg Pass. After spending some time in The Klein Karoo, which has some really special accommodation options.
You will need a high clearance vehicle to get here. It is an incredible and long drive to this destination, start the trip early in the day. You will need to bring all devices fully charged, a full tank of petrol and spare petrol. There is a small shop and restaurant on the Fontein farm where you can by a few things ( at the entrance of Gamkaskloof), but otherwise you will need to bring all your food and drinks.
Booking of the accommodation can be made here, through the Cape Nature website.
This is the "other Die Hel”, not to mistaken for Die Hel, Groot Winterhoek, Western Cape
