Bloukrans Pass, Garden Route

R102, Garden Route, Western Cape

This is the old road between Nature's Valley and Stormsriver, before the N2 and Bloukrans Bridge was built. It is partially closed off, not maintained, becoming over grown and absolutely epic!

Wild Gallivanting felt rather naughty driving on this road, but we passed a number of locals who clearly use the Bloukrans Pass road quite often. 

Witnessing the enormous forest growth up-close is rather humbling. Trees so old that they tower from deep in the gorges and cover the road meters for over head.

The bridge is old and charming and extremely picturesque if you're needing a lunch stop.
