Travellers at the Cedar Falls waterfall

Cedar Falls Hike, Baviaanskloof

Just for Two Cottage, Go Baviaans

Baviaanskloof, Eastern Cape

Cedar Falls is an easy to moderate hike with lots of wild swimming and so many spectacular views. Hopping over steams and rambling over rocks, swimming through rock pools. It is exciting and exhilirating. The final destination…the Cedar Falls themselves…is at the far end of the out-and-back trail...and is absolutely mind blowing!

Your shoes will get wet, we recommend a good pair of hiking shoes/gum boots and some wet shoes for scrambling over the rocks.

Plan a full day. And having this charming cottage as a rest before and after is just magic.

Go Baviaans has offered a remarkable experience with their stunning hikes and gorgeous cottages. You can view their other hikes and accommodation here.

Off the beaten track and a long drive, the Baviaanskloof Mountains are an absolute spectacle. If are planning your trip through the Baviaanskloof Nature Reserve a high clearance vehicle is recommended, especially in rainy season as you will need to cross a few rivers.

If you are travelling towards East London and looking for a stop over, we recommend Bergrivier Eco Retreat, Thornhill, Eastern Cape.

And if travelling towards Western Cape, then Nona Rosa Bushcamp Will be a perfect little spot to indulge in nature before heading back to town.
